Having served as an organiser for both the 2020 Bangkok event (which was cancelled at the last minute due to the pandemic) and the 2023 “re-run” in Bangkok, I had initially planned to take it a bit easier for the WordCamp Asia 2024 in Taiwan.
However, as the opening day on 8th March coincided with International Women’s Day, a special panel discussion was organised. Titled “Shaping the Future with WordPress Women”, this session brought together women from the WordPress community to share their journeys and exchange views on career challenges. I was truly honoured to be invited as one of the panellists.

The fellow panellists I shared the stage with were truly wonderful, and I am sincerely grateful for the bonds we formed across borders. It was also incredibly encouraging to see so many influential contributors from the Japanese WordPress community in the audience.
The event was also mentioned in a retrospective article by Ishikawa-san, the development leader at Vektor, Inc.
I also highly recommend reading the article “Reflections on Speaking at WordCamp Asia for Two Consecutive Years (in Japanese)” by my esteemed senior, Hidetaka Okamoto, who gave me the courage to speak overseas as a pioneer from Japan. (Although he is much younger than me, he is a true veteran when it comes to speaking experience!)
